Advice on first home gym treadmill

If you go with a lower end one (Horizon or sole) I would definitely go with Horizon. Honestly as far as durability goes, the two are about the same. You will have a better experience on the service side of things (if you need it) with the Horizon. As far as Matrix goes, the post above is correct, the 30 line would be sufficient. But depending on the height of the user. The length could come into question (although rarely). If you are not too tall, like 6’2″ or less and go with Matrix, I would get the TF (folding) version of it. Reason being is it is far easier to clean under it, and belive it of not, the foldable version seems more sturdy because the console does not rise up with incline like the static version. Lastly, if you do go with Matrix, go to a specialty retailer (like Johnson fitness). Typically they will match most apples to apples pricing. Also, spring for the delivery/install. In most areas for Johnson the delivery guys are not a 3rd party. 3rd party can present issues if by chance there is an issue right out of the box. They just want to get paid, so if something is missing or broken etc. you are typically on your own to get service as the 3rd party guys tell you it doesn’t work and go on their way. Think Peloton on this. The delivery has been a nightmare for them and is the source of many complaints. As far as True goes, they are fantastic machines. Very, very durable. Spring for the 8000 and the adjustable absorption. You will have this machine for a long time….you never know what injuries or just “tired bones” may crop up down the line. It is worth it to have the ability to soften the absorption.
